Love Good BBQ didn’t start as a business. It started as an obsession.
Back in 2012, Jeff bought a smoker and started playing around with flavors in the backyard. He was always tweaking something. Adding a little more heat. A little more smoke. If it didn’t taste right, he fixed it. Before long, he was mixing his own seasonings because nothing off the shelf ever quite hit the mark.
He became the go-to barbecue guy. Family gatherings. Holidays. Neighborhood get-togethers. If there was smoke in the air, it was probably coming from his backyard
That was the beginning of Love Good BBQ.
By 2019, that obsession shifted. He started looking at everyday snacks and thinking they deserved more. More flavor. More smoke. More intention than what you’d find on a grocery store shelf. So he seasoned them with his own blends and put them on the smoker.
The turning point came when he brought a batch of his smoked peanuts to work. Before he even had one for himself, they were gone, and instead of asking what he put on them, people were asking if he sold them.
Love Good BBQ isn’t just a name. It’s what started this whole thing. A love for good barbecue and a belief that everyday snacks deserved better.
It goes back to our roots.

Jeff grew up in a small town in Illinois and now calls Peculiar, Missouri home. He does things his own way, plain and simple. He cares about flavor, but he cares just as much about the people around the table enjoying it.
Today, Love Good BBQ is still built the same way it started, in small batches, with real wood smoke and homemade seasonings. Our family works behind the scenes, and there’s never a shortage of taste testers around our table.
You can find us at farmers markets throughout the Kansas City area. We also offer bulk orders for weddings, events, and custom snack and seasoning baskets for gatherings big and small.
Catering smoked meats may be in our future. But it was the snacks that started it all, and they’re still the ones people can’t stop reaching for.
